Integrated Product Development
My experience at an early stage startup quickly led to the realization that design must work with tech capabilities and business goals to make an impact.
So while I practiced design methods of user research, iterative design, and testing, I constantly tried to find ways to collaborate with domain experts beyond design.
During my masters' in Integrated Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University, I was further exposed to new product development methods for cross-functional teams.
My understanding of these methods is constantly evolving, but here are some key parts of the integrated product process:
Forces that generate opportunities for new product development
Identifying opportunities in the top right quadrant of the style vs technology scale
Identifying methods for cross disciplinary teams to keep focussed on the user
